The Electric Run isn't just a 5K, it's an adrenaline-filled, fitness-themed dance party. If you haven't tried this race yet, what are you waiting for? We spoke with Electric Run participants and the Marketing Mayor himself, Drew Woodley, to find out what makes this a race you don't want to miss.
It's Like Two Events in One

"The Electric Run was a blast! Imagine running with a ton (10,000 in San Diego) of creative, glowing, happy people through flashing lights and music. Then, if that's not enough, you can hit up the after party. It's like two events in one. The race is a must do."
"I loved all the glow-in-the-dark decorations like Neffmau5 Land and the light installations. You can stop and take some amazing photos, and the best part was that they had volunteers throughout the race to take pictures and pass out glow sticks and water. It was an absolute blast and I would definitely do it again with a big group of friends."
"This event is great for the hardcore, veteran runners and the 5K fun runners. It appeals to the entire spectrum. You'll see people who have never completed an endurance event before, along with triathletes and marathoners. Participants bring their entire family and show the younger generations that running can be fun."
"Each event is very different based on the courselands (the decorated areas runners travel through) and the layout of the race. You can run through the Motor Speedway in Atlanta or run on the field at Gillette Stadium in Boston, the home of the New England Patriots."
"It was so much fun to dress up. There were people dressed from head to toe in glowing accessories. Besides that, the end of the race was my absolute favorite part. The DJ plays for the rest of the night at the post-race party."
"The demographic is generally runners who are 14 to 30, but we've seen 60-year-olds, parents pushing babies in strollers (with headphones on of course) and even 96-year-old runners."
"It's the best of both worlds: it's a race and a new experience. Magical trees, enchanted forests, lasers and fog surround the course; it's an incredible ambiance. There's so much excitement and energy throughout the entire race."
"This race has everything. From the top music, to a course built by the best art directors in the world, everything from Neffmau5 Land and Rainbow Road to Electric Avenue. The race is your chance to be transported to an entire new world."
"It has all the energy of a concert without any of the negativity. Everyone shows up looking for something unique and exciting to do. It's an amazing time with your family and friends."
