Merrell Moab Speed 2
About: The Merrell Moab Speed 2 hiking shoe is a quality option for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a balance of comfort and performance on the trails. Designed with a durable upper, this shoe offers breathability and protection on the trails. The sole delivers exceptional grip and traction whether it's rocky slopes or slippery surfaces. Moreover, the shoe's cushioned midsole provides enough support to provide an amazing day out hiking on your favorite trails or those new ones that are on the list to experience.
It's nice that Merrell provides a wide fit option because this shoe has the potential for some hikers to find it a narrow fit. Nevertheless, the Merrell Moab Speed 2 hiking shoe is a reliable choice for an array of hikes ranging from quick lunch time jaunts to an all day trek on a Saturday. The Merrell Moab Speed 2 offers durability, traction, and comfort in a lightweight hiking shoe package.
These are the best hiking specific shoes that I have owned. They are great to wear on the trail and able roll into a brewery right after without having a big bulky hiking boot on.
Things We Liked:
"It's awesome to have a pair of shoes that will hold up on long trail hikes the fall, winter, and colder spring days. "
Areas for Improvement:
"I'd probably try to progress this shoe into a less bulky upper that allows for more breathability. Merrell has made a great hiking shoe, but it would be nice to have one that has a more lightweight and airy upper. "

Merrell Morphlite
About: The Morphlites feel like a premium shoe for a budget price. They have a decent amount of cushioning, good traction and lugs for tricky surfaces, and a comfortable bootie fit.
They’re billed as a road to trail shoe but we wouldn’t recommend taking them on a more technical trail run, stick to light trails. However , during our testing we were able to wear them on a rainy run and really appreciated the extra grip. The Morphlites would probably also be great for snowy or slick roads.
I can’t believe these shoes are only $100, they look and feel like they should cost a lot more.
Things We Liked:
"The stretchy bootie fit is extremely comfortable!"
"Comfort was amazing. Great support and cushion.
Areas for Improvement:
"I think the midsole could use a touch more cushioning."
Final Thoughts
The Merrell Morphlite shoes were some of the best we've have found! We'd highly recommend purchasing a pair of these, especially for those that are looking for a shoe that can go from road to light trails all in one go. The comfort is superior; no rubbing on the heels, lots of room in the toe box, and great support.
