Participants help raise funds for a local counseling center to continue the fight to increase awareness, prevent and treat drug use and abuse and promote healthy families.

What Makes it Special: In its 26th year, this is a huge race with a variety of distances for participants to choose from. Medals awarded to the first, second and third finishers in the 5K and 5-mile, both for men and women.
Way Station Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 2016

What Makes it Special: This Thanksgiving Day race is hosted by Way Station, Inc., an active member of the Frederick community for the past 37 years. The race benefits children, adolescents, and adults with serious mental illness by enabling Way Station to assist them with their daily living, housing, and employment goals.

What Makes it Special: In its 29th year, this race attracts huge numbers of participants. To give you an idea, it includes a long-sleeve technical shirt to registrants, but caps it at the first 9,000. Incentive enough to sign up now, we think!
Coney Island Sports Foundation 5K Turkey Trot

What Makes it Special: Two words: Coney. Island. This race begins at Riegelmann Boardwalk (adjacent to Parachute Jump). Each registrant receives a hooded sweatshirt, and finishers will be awarded with a medal.
Family Gratitude

What Makes it Special: The first 500 pre-registered runners will receive a race t-shirt. Proceeds from race benefit the Dedham Food Pantry and local Ripples of Hope community based service initiatives. Bags of non-perishable food will be sorted on race day.

What Makes it Special: Now with chip timing and a certified course, the top male and female runners will receive a free turkey, and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. There's also an award for the best costume. All this adds up to a nice day of fun leading up to Thanksgiving Day!
YMCA Camp Letts Turkey Chase

What Makes it Special: The Turkey Chase is this local YMCA's largest fundraiser each year. The race includes a 10K and 5K race through the Y's beautiful property, and all proceeds help send deserving children and young adults to overnight and day camp programs at Camp Letts.
