If you have a few days before the race, do a couple of light workouts, rest and fuel up. It's fine to do some low-key sightseeing, but your first priority should be to get ready for the race.
Since you're in a new place, it may be tempting to try different foods. This could be risky. The last thing you want is to have it come back to haunt you on race day.
During the few days leading up to the race, stick with food you know your system can handle. Stock up on foods you normally eat at the local market or grocery store. Save the exotic cuisine for your vacation after the race.
It's important to follow your normal pre-race routine. Check out the race expo (if there is one), get your race number and go over the course. Then, enjoy the race!
After the Race
If you have an extended vacation planned after the race, consider shipping your bike home so you don't have to worry about it. Otherwise, store your bike and race gear at your hotel or the airport.
Now it's time to recover from the race, and enjoy the rest of your vacation without worrying about training.
