Wow, the 2019 IRONMAN World Champion was one to remember.
From Jan Frodeno returning from injury to not only win the race for the third time, but also break the course record set by Patrick Lange last year, to Anne Haug securing her first world championship title in an expertly-crafted performance, triathlete fans truly got their money’s worth. It was a racer’s race, with daring moves and tactics on display from start to finish. While the Germans took both the men’s and women’s titles, the Americans had a strong showing as well, with Tim O’Donnell and Ben Hoffman placing second and fourth, and Heather Jackson placing fifth.
While we all process all that unfolded on the Big Island this year, let’s take a quick look back at some of the most memorable moments of the race—here are the best tweets and Instagram posts from the 2019 IRONMAN World Championship.
