Overview: Woodworking is usually considered a more refined skill than carpentry. Using the skills developed in this Adirondack Chair class, students will be prepared to work on basic furniture projects, as well as do finer carpentry work such as interior trim. In this class, students will develop accurate measuring, cutting and joinery techniques, and will be exposed to more precision tools. Project Description: This 2-day class is organized around the construction of an Adirondack chair that is the student's to take. The Adirondack chair is a classic piece of outdoor furniture that has become a staple in many back yards. As a woodworking project, it allows us to delve into detailed carpentry skills such as precision measuring, marking and cutting, as well as introducing some new tools. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission.
