Calling all young chefs! Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the delicious world of culinary arts. This program introduces campers to the fun and creativity of the kitchen while teaching them essential skills they can use for life! Throughout the camp, campers will have the opportunity to prepare tasty, kid-friendly, and healthy foods while exploring the fundamentals of cooking in a safe, hands-on environment. From mixing and chopping to measuring, stirring, and decorating, each day will be an exciting new adventure as they discover what it’s like to be a chef. Campers will get the chance to participate in the various stages of creating the food - from prep to presentation! At the end of each session, campers will gather to enjoy their creations together, discuss the process and ways to improve their recipes. Who knows, there might even be some leftovers to take home! Whether you’ve been helping in the kitchen before or this is your first time, every camper will leave with new skills, increased confidence, an appreciation for healthy eating and where our food comes from. CANADIAN FAVOURITES - Week 1 Dive into Canada's rich food culture by preparing classic Canadian dishes from coast to coast, including poutine, pacific salmon bannock and iconic desserts like butter tarts and Nanaimo bars while learning the history behind each dish and why it's beloved by Canadians across the country. Special activities will include a Canadian trivia game, discovering the origins of these dishes, and tasting their way through local flavours that have made their mark both locally and worldwide! This is a half-day program.
